Costa Ricans enjoy you visiting with them. They welcome you to help with service projects and visit their churches and schools. Talk to the Iguana Lodge staff about volunteer opportunities and arranging visits to the local schools, churches, and the Iguana Lodge Public Library in town.
In Puerto Jimenez there are a variety of things to see and do.
- You can take a cooking class on a local farm – learn how to make coconut oil, local cheese, and tortillas.
- You can also just head into town and walk or bike around. Town is great. You can visit the crocodiles in the lagoon, and then head for some seafood on the waterfront or visit a local gift shop.
