Our Staff

Iguana Lodge has about thirty employees. Many of our workers have been with us for years, some almost since the day we arrived. We only hire Costa Ricans (except for our wonderful reservation manager, Maxine, who is a legal resident and has lived here for more than a dozen years). We are one of the few hotels in our area that strictly employs this policy.  FYI  – this is eco-tourism in action – giving local people jobs.

Our workers generally live in Puerto Jimenez and ride their bikes to work which takes about forty minutes each way, although many have now purchased motorcycles or cars. Almost everyone has a family with one or two children, and often live in extended family settings.
