Come for the Adventure, Stay for the Pristine Natural Serenity.

Welcome to your Beachfront Paradise.

Comb the sand, grab a boogie board, kayak out to the reef (watch out for humpbacks), or take a walk.

Whatever your beach vibe is, it's here — right on the six-mile-long, gorgeous, deserted stretch of sandy beach in and out of the water. It might almost be lonely if you didn’t have all the scarlet macaws overhead…

Check out the Beach

  • • Sandy and swimmable beach - unlike everywhere else on the Peninsula

    • Walk for miles without seeing another person, but you can't avoid the scarlet macaws!

    • Warm tropical water is sublime, hovering around 84 degrees

    • Kayak, paddleboard, or swim to the nearby reef less than half a mile out. We've got all the gear for you!

    • Colourful, tropical sarongs for after your dip

    • Beach hammocks and lounge chairs

    • As luck would have it, a new fast surf break has developed in the last few years!

    • Experience Tinkerbell-esque swimming in the evenings with the bioluminescence

Pool & Jacuzzi

Dive into our fab, fifty-five-foot chemical-free pool or take a dip in the Jacuzzi — and don't be surprised if a monkey swings by overhead.

You may wonder: Why would I want to go to the jacuzzi in the tropics? Well, wait until you've lounged about in it with a cool cocktail at sunset. Soak in the rain during the epic downpours and become one with the water. Jump in at night — this is the spot for stargazing.

  • • Tropical pool in the jungle, how could it get any better?

    • Chemical-free with the latest salt system (for eco-friendly people and the environment)

    • The lap pool is 55 feet long! We're told our pool is the largest on the Osa...

    • Eighteen good friends can fit comfortably in the jacuzzi — apparently, it's the only one around

    • Take a dip whenever you want. Just be sure to keep the noise level in check during the wee hours of the night

Take time for yourself or your loved one with the perfect treat. We have great masseuses who have earned spectacular reviews… Enjoy! Try the three hour deluxe if you really want to unwind. It’s good for you!

View our Spa Menu Here.

  • • A wet room for scrubs & wraps

    • A super cool glass frosted cube shower

    • Organic natural tropical ingredients only!

Yoga Pavilion

Zen it Up in our literally world-class yoga pavilion. Stretch, move, meditate, levitate!

Our gorgeous facility will likely take your breath away. It’s like a church - but for yoga. Where every pose comes with a view, and there is no need to turn up the heat or put on a tropical ocean sound track… although some yoginis love to rock out - and we have the stereo for that too.

We offer complimentary classes when the resident yogini is available (see video below), and if she isn’t - then there are a variety of instructors happy to come from town for a small fee. Read more about Iguana Lodge’s Yoga History and Mythology here:

  • • Poolside Yoga deck for open-air downward dogs

    • It's au naturel here, baby! No need to turn up the heat ala bikram or turn on a tape recorder for peaceful sounds: get into the jungle and onto the beach for the authentic Yoga experience

  • • Classes are available, but you're free to use the space on your own

    • We have hosted retreats where yogis from around the planet ~ they pop in to dog it up

    • Teacher Training is occasionally available

    • Want to host a retreat? Bring it to Iguana Lodge

    • Want to attend a retreat? Check out our schedule

Tennis Court & Pickle Ball

Game, set, match. Join the fun and bring your A-game. Meet locals and enjoy pick-up games. (We open our court to the locals at no charge, but guests get first call!)

And talk about fun: don't just take our word for it — hear it from our zen tennis friend:

Bystander Q: "Who's winning?"

Brad: "We're all winning 'cause we're all playing tennis."

We have the USTA beat: we don’t charge our audience, consisting of Macaws, Monkeys, and Other Fantastic Creatures in the jungle of the Osa!

  • • Rackets and balls are necessary, so we've got those. However, no shoes are required here!

    • We have some special deals for you tennis lovers — Pros stay free when they bring a group of six or more

  • Dan Dicke brings his Pura Vida approach to his instruction with his passion for the game and love of the people. With over three decades of teaching experience and thousands of students in his wake, this is a learning experience you don't want to miss.

Harry Hamilton grew up in a tennis family in Roanoke, starting as early as two years old — now that's a pro! He has a unique approach to coaching tennis, concentrating on cultivating well-rounded athletes with good footwork, body awareness, and mindfulness. Over the past 16 years, he has had the chance to work with and learn from some of the world's most talented coaches and players and to teach tennis in Florida, New York, Hawaii, California, Kenya, and Costa Rica.

Ceramic & Music Studio

Let the Clay Begin! Our  newest project: The Pura Vida Ceramic Studio!

Whether you're a seasoned potter or a newbie, the studio is ready for your unique touch. And who knows, Toby or Lauren may offer a class...

Meanwhile, when we built this gorgeous little structure in the midst of the jungle, we didn’t know it would generate incredible acoustics. Hence, our gorgeous air-conditioned ceramic studio now doubles as a music studio, and for which our electric piano who was craving AC is forever grateful.

  • • Three throwing wheels

    • An electric kiln

    • A 36-inch slab roller

    • All the clay you could dream of!

    • A palette of glazes and tools

    • All we're missing are artists like you!

  • • An electric piano with 88-weighted keys

    • A sweet little Guitar and over eager Congas just waiting to be played.

“The Osa is one of the most beautiful places on earth. And I can't wait to return. That being said, I can't imagine staying anywhere else but the Iguana Lodge.
